The Angels of Mons is a popular legend from World War I. British soldiers declared they had seen angels during the Battle of Mons and believed the angels had been sent to guard them. Their presence provided a source of comfort and hope to the men in the trenches. This commemorative decoration features a gypsum plaster angel on a bronze backing with a green ribbon for hanging. The back is inscribed with lines taken from the poem 'For The Fallen' by Robert Laurence Binyon, 'At the going down of the sun and in the morning we will remember them'. Limited Edition of 1918 pieces
